I see you have won the award for best Traditional Pub.Brilliant, you deserve it. Nice to see the range of beers have increased and all were in good shape. Shame about the heaters in the garden, they need repairing. All in all a nice pub and I found the big guy with the beard, at the corner of the bar, great to chat to and very helpful !Will be back soon.

5 real ales are now on offer and in tip top condition.Great staff, great atmosphere and a friendly welcome await all.A "local pub" in the Town Centre. Regulars or newcomers are made to feel at home in this Olde Worlde pub.Don`t forget to sample the superb, heated garden.

Great bar. Especially the no smoking bit! Jukebox is great. Garden's only fault is that it's too popular. Loved the idea of the beer fest although the token system meant queueing twice for each drink!

One of Reading's best town centre pubs. Well done.

A proper pub and not one of the usual `plastic` town centre offerings.Two small bars and a large, heated garden are complimented by friendly staff and a mixed clientale.A safe, enjoyable visit is the aim of the management, along with a range of product to satisfy most people.For the Real Ale drinker, 3 well kept beers are usually on sale.
The Allied also has the best jukebox selection for miles.
Visit and relax, an enjoyable experience awaits.
